  • Washington, DC

  • Name: United States of America Peace Angel Monument

  • Inspiration:  The eastern shores of what was eventually to become the United States of America bore witness to the landing spots for hardy Europeans who sailed across the Atlantic Ocean in search of a land where they could live in freedom. It was only some three centuries later that the new Congress authorized President George Washington to choose a permanent site for the capital city. Today, Washington, D.C., the heartbeat for the nation, is a city that symbolizes both triumphs and tragedies. The world recognizes Washington, D.C. as an inspirational center for freedom and self-government, even while its enemies targeted its landmarks on one terrible day of September 11, 2001.

  • The USA monument will hold the torch of freedom and stand atop melted and re-cast decommissioned nuclear missiles. Her stance is strong and clear. In its brief history, the United States of America has grown to become a great country, and is a ‘melting pot’, made up of all of the peoples of the world. To melt down weapons and create peace in the United States will inspire the entire world to do what is possible.

  • Dimensions: 30 x 30 feet

  • Weapons: street weapons, weapons worldwide, decommissioned nuclear missile casings

Peace Angel
